28th International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy

28th International Conference on Raman Spectroscopy

  • We are delighted to announce a satellite Raman workshop on multimodal imaging, offered by the Gold Sponsor Phothermal and scheduled on Sunday 28th July.

  • Students' grants to join ICORS are still available, more details here!

PHOTOTHERMAL WORKSHOP

The workshop will discuss recent advances and applications in multimodal imaging with submicron IR (O-PTIR) with simultaneous Raman (IR+Raman) and now, with co-located widefield fluorescence imaging Additionally, we will introduce a brand-new innovation, Fluorescence Enhanced Photothermal IR (FE-PTIR), allowing for true widefield chemical snapshot imaging with <500nm IR spatial resolution of fluorescently labelled or autofluorescent samples.  The workshop will feature talks from world leading experts, a live online demo as well as an introduction and background from the host, Photothermal Spectroscopy Corp (PSC).

Speakers include:

  • Prof Ji-Xin Cheng, Boston Uni (Keynote Speaker): Title: "Recent advances in Mid-infrared photothermal microscopy"

  • Prof Roy Goodacre, Liverpool Uni: Title: "Overcoming the challenges of Raman for Life Sciences: Single cell level analysis with O-PTIR and Simultaneous Raman"

  • Dr Mustafa Kansiz, PSC: Title: "Overcoming the challenges of Raman for Life Sciences: Single cell level analysis with O-PTIR and Simultaneous Raman"

  • Final speaker to be announced soon

To join the school just flag the corresponding option during the ICORS registration process.

THE SOCIAL DINNER

The social dinner will be held at Villa Dino, one of the largest villas in the Eternal City. Inside you can admire various Roman artefacts. In addition to an original Roman colonnade, the Villa features a 6000mq park, flanked by the tomb of Lucius Anneus Seneca, the famous philosopher and Nero's tutor. The dinner will be preceded by a visit of the ancient Appian Way, one of the biggest archaeological areas of Europe embracing 4580 hectares.
